Draft Shoreline Master Program Available for Public Comment

The City of Anacortes has given notice that the New Draft Shoreline Master Program is available for public comment on the following:
1) Text changes proposed by DOE and recommended for acceptance by the City Council’s Planning Committee (together with some minor technical corrections). 2) Appendix I is new. It is an analysis of shoreline characteristics that leads to recommendations for changes to the currently proposed shoreline designations. The City Planning Director (Ian Munce) had considerable opportunities to input into this analysis and recommends that it be used to finalize the Shoreline Master Program (after written comment and a new public hearing(s)).

The City of Anacortes Shoreline Master Program July 2008 Draft can be viewed at the Anacortes Public Library, at the information desk at City Hall, and is also located on the City’s website under the following address: http://www.cityofanacortes.org/Planning/smp_final.htm
